Donald Chewning
President My name is Donald Chewning and I moved to this area about thirty years ago to join a construction company in Mexico Beach. Friends invited me to Unity in 2007, and I soon found an affinity with the positive message and the welcoming people here. Unity teachings put into words the Truth ideas I have always felt but did not have a way to express. Over the years I have enjoyed being a part of the Welcome Team, the Hospitality Team and the Leadership Council. |
Ross Malloy VP/Treasurer An Army veteran, Ross Malloy and his wife Vicki have lived in Panama City since 2001. Ross is originally from Texas and Vicki from South Dakota. They have 2 grown sons Justin and Dillon. Ross is retired from Oceaneering, his degree is in Industrial Engineering and Vicki works as a nurse Case Manager at a local hospital. Ross and Vicki have been to quite a few churches in the area in the past 15 years. They started attending Unity in 2016-17 and knew they had found their spiritual home. "We love that Unity teaches each person is a unique expression of God and each of us is sacred and worthy." |
Rose Flora
Secretary Rose Flora and her husband Bob moved to South Walton from N.E. Indiana in July 2002, and became Unity of Panama City members on November 24th, 2002. After trying different churches in the Panama City area, they knew they were home after attending Unity. They currently live on the West End of Panama City Beach. Bob and Rose have a combined family with two adult sons, two adult daughters, and five grandsons. Rose is now retired but has had a few different careers, the last being an RN at the Florida Dept. of Health in Bay County. Rose previously served on the Unity Board starting in 2006. She has been a Member of the Interfaith Harmony Council since its inception, working on Rev. Neptune’s team on its creation. In addition, Rose has facilitated the Course in Miracles book study for several years. She has served on or is currently serving on other teams, including the Social Media Team, Spiritual Leadership Team, Book Store Team (Lisenby), and others. In addition, she enjoys participating in the Unity Women’s group and various other Unity groups and volunteering at Family Service Agency. Rose believes participation is critical to keeping Unity and its teachings alive and vibrant. |
Dottie Smith
Trustee Dottie Smith has been attending Unity Spiritual Center of Panama City since 2012. She was seeking a spiritual home, and a friend recommended Unity. Dottie has served as a member of the Unity Singers for most of her time at Unity, has served on the Hospitality Team, and has plans to undergo training as a Prayer Chaplain soon. Dottie says she is excited about serving as a member of the Board to proactively support Unity and its membership, as well as helping herself in her spiritual growth. She loves the idea of being in “Oneness” and equal to all humanity. “It lifts my heart,” she says. |
